After YEARS of waiting……

I got the Faber 40L conventional oven, my very first oven for my baking *HOORAAYY*!!

I have done so much comparison between Elba, Faber, Cornell and even Hanabishi. Each of them (above 30L) has almost similar features such as Turbo Fan, 4 power setting, adjustable temperature to 250C degree, 60min timer. The only differences between them are:

    * Elba (Has an inner light but the construction looks flimsy)
Faber (Nice solid built up but it comes without inner cooking light)
Cornell( Solid oven but I don’t like the design)
Hanabishi (Solid oven. Too bad it comes without Rotisserie function)

Now my hands are very itchy wanting to bake now. See, crazy or not, sleep and eat also no time, wanna bake some more! *Am lining up plans now for my CNY cookies and tarts* Surely the Fentraphen will sells good after the festive season, WAKAKAKA!!!

I hardly have a chance to use the bento kits that I bought recently. Although I am not decorating my girl’s food, I am happy that she is now learning to eat some greens. She could take most of the vegetables with soft leaves. Her favourite is the spinach. So from time to time, I will introduce some new vege to her, hoping that she would slowly love vege. Green beans are in fact good for little children. Shall check out some new easy green bean recipes since my boys are going to start on solid too, soon.

Since I need to drink lots of soup frequently to increase my breast milk, I need to boil soup almost daily. At the moment, the biggest pot that I have for soup boiling can only cater for a meal. Surprisingly, yesterday hubby suggest that we buy another bigger pot so that we can cook more. Can you imagine how trilled I was at his suggestion (since he seldom like to buy cookware) ?

Any suggestion of good cookware? Probably I need to browse through the Myson offers since I am getting a paella pan as well.

Ingredients: 250g butter, 100g castor sugar, 4 fresh eggs, 250g self raising flour, and 1/2tsp vanilla essence.

Friday is my baking day again Today I decided to bake just a plain butter cake. 2nd time baking is definitely more easier, more faster as I know what to prepare and do, and less mess too, hehehe…..In my experience, I find that butter cake has got more coarse texture as compare to cheese cake (my first project last friday). However towards the end, only i realized that I have forgotten to sieve the flour Therefore my nanny suggest that I mix the mixture into more fluffy so that it will be more “light”. Well, after 45mins baking in the microwave, my cake came out just fine.

Since young, I have great interest with everything to do with food (from preparing to eating). My mum wasn’t very much of a good cook, though I must admit I still love and miss her cooking (my childhood taste) nowadays. I have always love my grandma’s cooking, but I din have the chance to learn from her as she always finds that I was a nuisance in the kitchen when I tried to help (most probaly at that time I was too young to handle fire

Now I have got all the time in the world to learn and experience. Hence , I decided to learn to bake. Picking up a good local baking book, and some ingredients (gosh, they are expensive !!), i decided to do a cheese cake. Thanks to my nanny, who has offered me to do my experiement in her house as she has all the baking accessories one needs.

With a high enthusiam to bake, we decided to start up this morning. Well, after a whole mad morning, with QiQi fancying eating on with my beaten up butter, we managed to bake a butter cake, with lots of cheddar cheese as topping and this is how it looks like. My first cheese cake.
